42530004 view from hotel, Assisi
Here is a view from our hotel (Hotel Pallotta, Via San Rufino 6) down into the fertile Topino river (Spoletto) valley below Assisi; taken with a Canon EOS 1v.
The towers and dome are, from the left, San Antonio (the church and convent at Sant'Antonio di Padova (1607) were adapted in 1990 to house a school), Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Vescovado? (hidden behind), and Chiesa Nuova.
The line of the River Topino can be seen behind the swift (the bird) to the right of Chiesa Nuova.
Hotel Assisi Room
Our fairly nice room at the Hotel Assisi in Rome. The hotel was wonderfully located just a few blocks away from the Termini Station. While the room was quite small, this is typical of European hotels and was on par with other places we've stayed. The staff of the hotel were friendly and helpful and the adequate breakfast (free!) was a good start to the day.
